What a trooper

Oliver had his 15 month check-up this morning (2 weeks early).  This involved getting one shot because I opted to have them only give Oliver one shot at a time.  It doesn't seem safe to inject these tiny little kids with 3 or 4 drugs at a time, especially when you consider all the toxins in the vaccines.  Talk about system overload.  So I urge all you moms and dads out there to talk to you child's doctor about your options, and if you find you have a doctor not willing to work with you- it's probably time to find a new doctor.  We are after all talking about our children here.

If money is an issue (those co-payments can really add up), ask your doctor to check to see if your insurance requires a co-payment if you DO NOT see a doctor.  After all, nurses do the dirty work.  I have BCBS, and if Oliver only sees a nurse, there is no co-payment! SCORE!!  There are some vaccines that are okay to take together, but if you take them separately, you may have to wait a month before getting another.   For example, if you get the MMr vaccine, you have to wait at least 4 weeks before getting the chicken pox vaccine.  Anyway, I'm not a doctor- just a concerned mommy... So do your research and have a chat with your pediatrician.

Anyway, on to more exciting things.. like Oliver's weight and height!  Oliver is growing like a weed.  His chart looks fabulous and he's moving right up the scale.  He's currently 29 3/4 inches in height.  That's 22nd percentile.  For weight he's coming in at 21 pounds 14 ounces- 20th percentile!  And last but not least, his head circumference is 18.6- 60th percentile.. This is what makes going to the pediatrician's office so exciting.  It's so fun to see how quickly Oliver is changing and growing.  It reminds me of all those doctor's appointments back when I was pregnant and hearing how fast his heart was beating or how big he'd gotten that week on the ultrasound.  Isn't life just precious?

Oh, and Oliver is officially a big boy now.  We finally turned his car seat around- no more baby Oliver.
