A Natural High

Sunday we took Oliver's kite he got for his birthday to the park. He thought it was so funny when Daddy was running around the field trying to keep the kite in the air. The wind kept changing directions, and it made it hard for us to successfully fly it for a long time. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Gross!

Have you seen the new KFC Double Down burger commercial? One word: GROSS! Anyone who eats that should probably go directly to the ER- that's one heart attack waiting to happen. And if I dare see a child eat that, I will scream. Oh, and you are what you eat.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Changes are coming. After being a stay at home mommy for the last 2 years, I am finally getting back into the work force. And even though I didn't have to leave Oliver when he was a newborn to work, I still think it's going to be just as difficult. He will be in school all day starting in May, and that is already making me teary eyed. I feel good about things though, and can't wait to get back into a new schedule. The anticipation of starting something new is always the hardest part for me.. but also very exciting.

Outside Weekend Projects

Although there are plenty of projects to do inside, we couldn't stay in when it's been so incredible outside. When Oliver woke up from his nap on Sunday, he went outside and started helping Daddy right away. Our yard is starting to look really good- thanks to Jim and Oliver of course. All the trees are in bloom, and we have lots of great ideas for our awesome yard. Now to find the time..

FrogFest 2010

Frogfest was so much fun, and right up our alley. What could be more fun for a little boy than looking and touching snakes, lizards, frogs, skinks and turtles? Oliver enjoyed everything Frogfest had to offer. He completed an obstacle course, raced (plastic) snakes, colored pictures, and petted every reptile he could get his hands on. Thanks to the NCSU students who helped make it a success. Since going, Oliver has been jumping everywhere he goes saying, "rib-it, rib-it."

More Cuteness

Tonight we went to IHOP for a breakfast dinner, but instead of being interested in eating pancakes, Oliver was digging the orange juice and his Daddy's hat.

After dinner we did some grocery shopping. Thank goodness Oliver was there to help us. :)

Last Night's Conversation

Yesterday afternoon Oliver locked me out of the master closet. Unfortunately it was one of the old locks, so I didn't have a key and the thin metal piece to unlock the other doors wouldn't work. Jim had to work on getting the door open when he got home from work. He went to the back with his tools, and Oliver followed him. The conversation went like this..

Jim: Oliver, who locked the closet door?

Oliver: Mommy did it.

Jim: Mommy did it? Are you sure?

Oliver: Oh man.

After getting busted he ran out of the room. Little stinker! I'm pretty sure his younger brother/sister is going to get all the blame.

SPRING BREAK- Week In Review!

What a fun week... Given, it was much different from spring breaks in the past, but great nevertheless. Monday we went to Hopper's House with friends. We had a great time running around. On Tuesday we went to story/music time. Oliver was the only one out of his seat running around on stage. Since turning 2 he rarely sits still. On Wednesday Oliver went to work with Daddy. This wasn't planned, but I had a dentist appointment that morning, and Jim had to go in to work before I could get back, so Wednesday became, "Go to Work with Daddy Day." When I went to pick him up, Oliver was sitting as Jim's desk using the 2nd computer in the room. He kept saying, "I'm workin, I'm workin." On Thursday we went to the museum with Misty and Madison. They had a blast running around and checking out all the fun exhibits. By lunch Misty and I were both exhausted. After lunch, we headed home and packed the car up for the beach. This was the first trip away in 6 months, and we couldn't have planned a better weekend to go. The weather was amazing. We spent all Friday morning on the beach... and Saturday. We rode around in the golf cart, played on the slide, and had an Easter egg hunt Sunday morning. The Easter Bunny didn't disappoint either.. It was a perfect weekend and great way to end an eventful week.
